VIEWS
Tools Under Development
Purpose
:
This section of VIEWS provides a first look at products and web tools still under development. These tools demonstrate planned additions to VIEWS and/or improvements to current tools. These products have been designed in response to input from the Regional Planning Organizations (RPOs), and comments and suggestions are welcome and appreciated as these new technologies evolve.
Important Note
:
These development are offered as examples of evolving technologies and are not intended for redistribution, publication, or use for regulatory purposes - they are samples only.
VIEWS Annual Summary Pages
The VIEWS Annual Summary section provides access to data and data products generated with IMPROVE aerosol data and metrics calculated following Regional Haze Rule Guidance specifications. The new Annual Summary pages incorporate a GIS map tool for site selection, a revised user interface for data selection, and publication quality charts. The underlying chart data can be downloaded in a variety of formats, including Excel. Page settings can be saved in a history log allowing users to
come back
to their specific saved page settings upon subsequent visits to VIEWS.
Trends
This page provides access to trend data such as the deciview value for the annual best and worst 20% visibility days. Rolling averages, Theil regression lines and statistics, default natural condition values, and attainment values at 5-YR increments are available. Data products can be downloaded in both graphical and as spreadsheet data.
Composition
The composition page displays a standard set of charts showing the major aerosol species' contributions to the best and worst 20% annual visibility days. Annual aggregations are shown in composite (pie) charts. Daily aerosol composition is shown in a timeline (stacked bar) chart. There is considerable opportunity for the user to modify the display, including options to change the chart types, view multi-year composites, or select any combination of individual days from the timeline to modify the composition charts.
VIEWS General Pages
Data Browser
The Data Browser provides a simple means of charting any data available in VIEWS. Demonstration buttons are provided to pre-select monitoring sites and parameters for example inter-network data comparisons. The demonstration buttons also select as chart type, date range, and averaging period. The user can customize the charts using interactive selection options.
