Data Resources

The Air Toxics Data Archive provides the following resources that allow you to directly explore the Air Toxics data, metadata, and project reports.

Query Wizard
The Query Wizard provides direct access to all archive data via a "power user" interface that provides a minimum of metadata description with a maximum of search and filtering capability. It requires more effort to construct a data query than other methods, but also provides more flexibility than other data retrieval methods.

Project Reports
View various reports about the data in the archive and information derived from the data. Browse numerous statistical analyses and summaries, as well as monitoring network design recommendations derived from the analyses.

Graphical Metadata Browser
The metadata browser allows visual exploration of monitoring program and site metadata via a GIS map. A user can browse the sites associated with each monitoring program and can "drill-down" to an general analysis of a given site's data. Zooming and panning features are available and the user can choose from a large selection of map layers to give context to the map.

Program Metadata
The Program Metadata page provides a detailed look at monitoring program metadata. The number of records, sites, and pollutants in the archive for each program is displayed, and a link to the program's raw data is provided.

Site Metadata
The Site Metadata page provides a detailed look at monitoring site metadata. Detailed location information is displayed, such as latitude, longitude, and elevation, and the start and end date for each site's data is also provided. A link to each site's raw data is provided, as well as links to a graphical summary of each site's data and a link to a topographical map of each site's location.

Pollutant Metadata
The Pollutant Metadata page provides a detailed look at pollutant metadata, such as CAS#, AQS Parameter code, and toxic characteristics. A link to more detailed information about each pollutant (currently from the National Institute of Standards) is also provided.

Site Analysis Tool
The Site Analysis page is a "beta" tool that provides a graphical summary of a given site's monitoring data using various pie charts, bar charts, and timelines. A user can select from a list of programs, choose a site associated with that program, and select the pollutants and date ranges for which to display summary data. At the present time, only basic summary techniques are used, and no special attention is given to completeness criteria or special calculation techniques. This tool is provided as a means for doing quick explorations of the data available in the archive.
