Most of the air pollution emissions data prepared and used in analysis and tracking for regional haze planning in the WRAP region is originally collected and reported in some form by the respective regulatory jurisdictions, i.e., state, local, and tribal air pollution control programs. For point, area, on-road and off-road mobile emissions, these estimates are supplemented by various topical WRAP Forums using contractor support by applying extensive quality assurance techniques and review to assure regionally consistent and comparable historic and projection data across the WRAP region. Emissions of windblown dust, forest/range/agricultural fire, fugitive ammonia, and biogenics are prepared using contractor support to develop centralized estimates of these emissions, with review by the appropriate regulatory jurisdictions. The EPA also provides the National Emissions Inventory (NEI) website that provides trends-oriented emission data; much of the data in the NEI for the WRAP region would vary from slightly to substantially different from those on the TSS. This section of the TSS makes available key summary emissions data through enhanced analysis and display tools.

WRAP Regional Modeling Center (RMC):The WRAP RMC assisted State and Tribal agencies in conducting regional haze analyses over the western U.S. by operating regional scale, three-dimensional air quality models that simulated the emission, transformation, and transport of pollutants and the effects on visibility in WRAP Class I Areas.
WRAP Fire Emissions Tracking System (FETS)Offsite link...:The WRAP’s Fire Emissions Tracking System (FETS) is a database with a web interface for planned and unplanned fire events. The design of the FETS enables efficient data acquisition, stable data storage and availability, real-time coordination among smoke managers, and cost effective development of fire emission inventories. Reliable and accepted technical methods to estimate fuel consumption and emissions from fire events are implemented in the FETS as are tools to estimate emissions averted due to the application Emission Reduction Techniques. Users can view fire data on-screen with a mapping tool and query the database for downloads of data into model-ready formats and CSV or DBF formats.
