SITE HISTORY

 

 

 

Site Location:               The monitoring site was located in southwestern Colorado, approximately 75 kilometers northeast of Durango in the San Juan Mountains.

 

 

Photographic Station:    The camera was located at the Wolf Creek Pass summit on the highest ridge between Molas Pass and Little Molas Lake, west of highway 550.  The camera viewed Indian Trail Ridge (~230°), 38.5 km.  A second camera was installed and viewed White Dome Pass (~103°), 15.1 km from 1986 – 1987.

 

 

Operational Period:       White Dome Pass Vista 07/25/86 – 02/24/87

Indian Trail Ridge vista 08/12/86 – 08/24/93

                                   

 

Data Collection:            Photographs were taken at 09:00, 12:00, and 15:00 daily.  Approximately 7,000 35mm-color slides of the Indian Trail Ridge vista were reviewed to develop the provided historical photographic archive.
