SITE HISTORY

Site Location: The monitoring site was located in northern Minnesota along the U.S./Canada border, approximately 175 kilometers north of Duluth.

Photographic Station: The camera was located at Kabetogoma Lake Visitor Center along the west edge of the park, adjacent to the maintenance area on the east side of the building. The camera viewed Martin Island (~82°), 4.05 km.

Operational Period: Martin Island Vista 09/19/86 – 06/05/94

Data Collection: Photographs were taken at 09:00, 12:00, and 15:00 daily. Approximately 7,000 35mm-color slides of the Martin Island Vista were reviewed to develop the provided historical photographic archive.
