SITE HISTORY
Site Location: The monitoring site was located in northwestern California along the Pacific Ocean coastline, approximately 136 kilometers north of Eureka on Interstate 101.
Photographic Station: Originally located at Requa Point, approximately 45 meters west of a softball field. The camera was stolen in the winter of 1990 and a new system was installed on the roof of building 100 at Klamath Air Force Station on 04/08/91. The camera viewed Rodger’s Peak (~172°), 44.9 km from both locations.
Operational Period: Rodger’s Peak Vista 06/03/87 – 03/21/95
Data Collection: Photographs were taken at 09:00, 12:00, and 15:00 daily. Approximately 7,500 35mm-color slides of the Rodger’s Peak Vista were reviewed to develop the provided historical photographic archive.
