SITE HISTORY

Site Location: The monitoring site was located on the west coast of west-central California, approximately 35 kilometers north of San Francisco on Highway 1.

Photographic Station: The camera was located next to a garage near a National Park Service residence house at Chimney Rock, just east of the Lighthouse Visitor Center and viewed Firtop (~91°), 17.7 km.

Operational Period: Firtop Vista 06/07/87 – 04/16/95

Data Collection: Photographs were taken at 09:00, 12:00, and 15:00 daily. Approximately 7,000 35mm-color slides of the Firtop Vista were reviewed to develop the provided historical photographic archive.
