SITE HISTORY

Site Location: The monitoring site was located in southeastern Georgia, approximately 18 kilometers southwest of Folkston at the Camp Cornelia compound.

Photographic Station: The camera was located on the observation tower off Chesser Island, on the northwest shore of Seagrove Lake and viewed Mitchell Island at ~208°. The camera system was stolen in November 1992 and never reinstalled.

Operational Period: Mitchell Island Vista 04/20/92 – 11/13/92

Data Collection: Photographs were taken at 09:00, 12:00, and 15:00 daily. Approximately 600 35mm-color slides of the Mitchell Island Vista were reviewed to develop the provided historical photographic archive.
