SITE HISTORY

Site Location: The monitoring site was located in southwestern Colorado, approximately 18 kilometers southeast of Cortez.

Photographic Station: The camera was located approximately 50 meters south of the Far View Visitor Center of Chapin Mesa and viewed Beautiful Mountain (~208°), 94.0 km.

Operational Period: Beautiful Mountain Vista 09/79 – 04/95

Data Collection: Photographs were taken at 09:00, 12:00, and 15:00 daily. Approximately 11,500 35mm-color slides of the Beautiful Mountain Vista were reviewed to develop the provided historical photographic archive.
