SITE HISTORY

Site Location: The monitoring site was located near the east-central border of Tennessee, along the Foothills Parkway, approximately 40 kilometers southwest of Gatlinburg.

Photographic Station: The camera was installed at the Look Rock Lookout on Chilhowee Mountain, along the Foothills Parkway, ten miles west of Highway 321. The camera viewed Parson Bald (~157°), 14.0 km.

Operational Period: Parson Bald Vista 01/04/84 – 10/11/95

Data Collection: Photographs were taken at 09:00, 12:00, and 15:00 daily. Approximately 11,000 35mm-color slides of the Parson Bald Vista were reviewed to develop the provided historical photographic archive.
