SITE HISTORY

Site Location: The monitoring site was located in central Alaska, approximately 195 kilometers southwest of Fairbanks on Alaska Highway 3.

Photographic Station: The camera was located at the Wonder Lake Visitor’s Center along the northern shore of Wonder Lake and viewed Mount McKinley (~189°), 47.5 km.

Operational Period: Mount McKinley Vista 06/06/88 – 09/20/94

Data Collection: Photographs were taken at 09:00, 12:00, and 15:00 daily. Approximately 1,500 35mm-color slides of the Mount McKinley Vista were reviewed to develop the provided historical photographic archive.
