SITE HISTORY
Site Location: The monitoring site was located at the western edge of the Chiricahua Mountains in southeastern Arizona, 150 kilometers southeast of Tucson.
Photographic Station: The camera was located at the Sugarloaf Mountain Fire Lookout, approximately five kilometers northeast of monument headquarters. The camera originally viewed Hatchett Peak (~117°), 97.0 km. With the installation of a transmissometer, the camera was realigned to view Mica Mountain (~281°), 117.0 km.
Operational Period: Hatchett Peak Vista 06/17/86 - 02/17/89
Mica Mountain Vista 02/17/89 - 04/12/95
Data Collection: Photographs were taken at 09:00, 12:00, and 15:00 daily. Approximately 6,000 35mm-color slides of the Mica Mountain Vista were reviewed to develop the provided historical photographic archive.
