SITE HISTORY

Site Location: The monitoring site was located in Canyonlands National Park in southwestern Utah, approximately 24 kilometers southwest of Moab.

Photographic Station: The camera was located one kilometer north of the “Island in the Sky” park entrance, on the east side of the main road. The camera viewed Cathedral Butte (~170°), 58.7 km.

Operational Period: Cathedral Butte Vista 01/21/87 - 04/11/95

Data Collection: Photographs were taken at 09:00, 12:00, and 15:00 daily. Approximately 12,000 35mm-color slides of the Cathedral Butte Vista were reviewed to develop the provided historical photographic archive.
