SITE HISTORY

Site Location: Located in the northeastern section of Badlands National Park, just north of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in southwestern South Dakota.

Photographic Station: Located approximately 230 meters north of Pinnacles overlook and 69 meters east of the road. The Sheep Mountain Vista views Sheep Mountain (~230°), 33.5 km.

Operational Period: Sheep Mountain Vista 08/87-04/95.

Data Collection: Photographs were taken at 09:00, 12:00, and 15:00 daily. Approximately 7,400 35mm-color slides of the Sheep Mountain Vista were reviewed to develop the provided historical photographic archive.
