SITE HISTORY

Site Location: Located in central Arizona, approximately 100 kilometers east/northeast of Phoenix on the southern shore of Theodore Roosevelt Lake.

Photographic Station: Located in the lower end of the “Boneyard,” downhill from the maintenance area in the southwest corner of the monument, approximately 1.5 kilometers south of Theodore Roosevelt Lake. The Mount Ord vista views Mount Ord (~326°), 39.5 km.

Operational Period: Mount Ord vista 04/17/89 – 04/08/95.

Data Collection: Photographs were taken at 09:00, 12:00, and 15:00 daily. Approximately 7,000 35mm-color slides of the Mother Mount Ord vista were reviewed to develop the provided historical photographic archive.
